The England Darts Organisation in conjunction with England’s Youth Ambassador Deta Hedman, are proud to announce, that the next event in The England Youth Grand Prix will be held this coming weekend at the GER Club in March, Cambridgeshire.
After the success of the inaugural event last year with a prize fund of over £4,500, with Mitchell McCarthy winning the boys tournament and Beau Greaves the Girls, England has decided to make the event more accessible to more youth players, by regionalising the competition, with the three regional winners along with the top 13 in the overall tables making the grand finals in October. This year sees an increase in the prize fund to over £6,000.
This weekend’s event is the second of the three Midlands qualifiers, as George Lynch from Clwyd and Rosie O’Connor of Warwickshire look to consolidate their leading position in the area after winning the first Midlands qualifier in Chesterfield last month.
The lead in the overall table currently is held by Warrington’s Luke “The Nuke” Littler a Lancashire Youth County player, and no surprises to see Yorkshire’s Beau Greaves heading the girls table ahead of Bedfordshire’s Hannah Meadwell. With less than half of the events having been played there are still plenty of opportunities for new or existing players to climb the table.
Each event carries a prize fund of £300 and is open to all youth players under 18 irrespective of nationality. The entry fee for all events is £5, during the 14 date tour of events, spread throughout England.
