Andy Baetens (12) 6 vs 5 Justin Thompson

It was nip and tuck between Belgium’s Andy Baetens and Australia’s Justin Thomson, but with the scores at 4-4, Thomson missed 3 clear darts at 32 to hold his throw and Baetens seized his opportunity to take the lead. Baetens held his throw in the tenth leg to win 6-4 and secure his place in the last 16.

Scott Waites (5) 5 vs 6 Scott Baker

Scott Baker takes out the two-times World Champion Scott Waites in an epic battle which went the distance. Baker checked out a 161 in the second leg to take an early lead, and at 5-4 missed bull to take the match. Waites levelled with a 13 dart leg, but with the advantage of throw, Baker held his nerve to take the match 6-5.

Anastasia Dobromyslova (5) 4 vs 0 Rhian O’Sullivan

Anastasia Dobromyslova shows she means business with a 4-0 whitewash over Welsh International Rhian O’Sullivan. The 2014 WDT Champion stormed out of the gates and took an early 2-0 lead, and O’Sullivan was unable to recover. Dobromyslova will face the winner of tonight’s clash between Lisa Ashton and Corrine Hammond in the last 8.

Martin Phillips (9) 3 vs 6 Darius Labanauskas

Steady darts from Lithuanian Darius Labanauskas secured a 6-2 over Welsh legend Martin Phillips. With the scores neck and neck at 2-2, Labanauskas found another gear and ensured his 2018 WDT campaign remains alive.

Willem Mandigers (8) 3 vs 6 Richie Edwards

A fired-up Richie Edwards knocked out the number eight seed Willem Mandigers 6-3. Every leg went with throw, before Edwards landed a well-timed 15 dart leg in the eighth to put him one leg from victory. With Edwards sat on 50 to win the match, Mandigers piled on the pressure with a 180 to leave 4, but Edwards held his nerve to take the match and a place in the last 16.

Lisa Ashton (4) 4 vs 0 Corrine Hammond

Completing the ladies quarter finals line-up is 4-times World Champion Lisa Ashton, with a 4-0 win over Corrine Hammond. Both players were slow to start, but Ashton found her form in the third leg finishing in 14 darts. Hammond was sat on 76 in the fourth leg before Ashton checked out a 102 and set her up for an exciting last 8 clash with Anastasia Dobromyslova.

Jeffrey Sparidaans (16) 1 vs 6 Tony O’Shea

BDO legend, Silverback, Tony O’Shea looked to be in fine form in his convincing 6-1 win over the number 16 seed Jeffrey Sparidaans. Sparidaans missed darts at double to even the match, and O’Shea took advantage to claim his place in the last 16 with an 87.51 average.

Glen Durrant 6 vs 2 Dafydd Edwards

Number one seed Glen Durrant concludes the first-round matches with a phenomenal performance against Welsh International, Dafydd Edwards. Durrant took the first three legs in 15, 13 and 10 darts, however, with Durrant constantly pressurising, qualifier Edwards showed great composure to take the fourth and seventh legs. Duzza’s 6-2 victory tees him up for a second-round clash with Silverback, Tony O’Shea.
