Fallon Sherrock hit two 180’s and took out a 108 checkout as she defeated Australia’s Corrine Hammond in the opening women’s match of the evening.

The Milton Keynes thrower averaged in the high 90’s to win the BDO World Trophy during 2018, and she was just south of the 90 mark as she defeated the out of sorts Hammond. After kicking off proceedings with a crowd pleasing 108 checkout, she would add two further maximums in the opening set to take it 3-0.

Hammond would take the opening leg of the second set, but nothing could halt the in form Sherrock. Another 16-darter pulling Sherrock back level before she put the finishing touches to a superb performance on the Frimley Green stage.

Afterwards the 23-year-old said, ‘there is plenty more to come’, so expect firework when she meets Maria O’Brien in the quarter-final’s.
