A look at each match on day 6 of the BDO Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship from Frimley Green.

Afternoon session


13:00 – Leighton Bennett Vs Nathan Girvan

Leighton Bennett and Nathan Girvan will contest the BDO World Youth final in the opening match of the afternoon session. Both players have competed on the BDO youth tour in throughout the season and will be looking to round off an excellent 2018 with what could be a career defining victory on the lakeside stage. 

13-year-old Bennett won the Cambridgeshire Open against a strong field of senior players a few months ago. While Girvan has represented Scotland in a fantastic year of action for the 17-year-old. 

14:15 – Mikuru Suzuki Vs Sharon Prins

Japanese sensation Mikuru Suzuki takes on the Netherland’s International Sharon Prins in the first of the women’s quarter-finals. Suzuki defeated reigning champion Lisa Ashton in the opening round of the tournament and is now many peoples favourites to take the crown. 

Two-time semi-finalist Prins defeated debutant Roz Bulmer in round one. The 30-year-old hasn’t made the final four since 2015, but having found her form at the perfect time, she will be hoping for a Lakeside best appearance this time around. 

14:45 – Maria O’Brien Vs Fallon Sherrock

After the performance of the first round, Fallon Sherrock will be hoping to keep a clean record as she faces Maria O’Brien in the second round. Sherrock defeated Australia’s Corrine Hammond in straight sets with a sensational 89 average, the best we’ve seen in the women’s tournament this tournament. 

O’Brien got one over Ladies pairs teammate Deta Hedman in the opening round. Despite her victory, O’Brien knows that she will have to improve drastically If she is to record a second victory of the week. 

15:15 – Scott Mitchell Vs Krzysztof Kciuk

2015 Champion Scott Mitchell continues his quest for a second BDO World Professional Darts Championship title as he faces surprise package of the tournament Krzysztof Kciuk in the second round at the Lakeside County Club. 

‘The Thumb’ dropped just one set as he came through a tough looking tie with number 11 seed Dave Parletti. Meanwhile Dorset thrower Mitchell defeated Serbia’s Oliver Ferenc in his first game. The two have never faced in competitive competition, but this is sure to be a fiery contest. 

Evening session 

19:00 – Lorraine Winstanley Vs Trina Gulliver

Lorraine Winstanley will face ten-time champion Trina Gulliver in the second round at Lakeside in one of the most highly anticipated contests of the second round. Winstanley, a former Winmau World Master scraped past Casey Gallagher in a gruelling first round clash, meanwhile Gulliver made light work of her Polish counterpart. 

19:30 - David Cameron Vs Kyle McKinstry

Canada’s David Cameron recorded the best Lakeside run of his career as he defeated Gary Robson in the first round. He now faces Northern Ireland’s Kyle McKinstry, who came through a marathon match with Chris Landman. ‘The Village Man’ took out a magnificent 133 checkout on route to a career defining victory at the home of world darts, and he will now be looking to make the final eight. 

21:15 - Anastasia Dobromyslova Vs Aileen de Graaf

Two of the sport’s greatest women’s darts players collide as number four seed Anastasia Dobromyslova takes on number five seed Aileen de Graaf. The Russian eased past Lakeside debutant Laura Turner in round one, while de Graaf defeated Paula Jacklin for the second year in a row. The two have an almost identical record, so it’s expected that the duo will be tough to split this time around. 

21:45 – Glen Durrant Vs Scott Baker

Reigning men’s champion Glen Durrant returns to the stage following his routine victory over Mark McGrath in round one. Scott Baker will hold a considerable threat to the Middlesbrough man’s remarkable Lakeside record. ‘The Mod’ defeated Ross Montgomery in double quick time on Tuesday evening as he stormed into a first ever Lakeside last 16 contest.
