Following the conclusion of the One80 L-style World Masters last night, the line-up of automatic qualifiers for the 2020 BDO World Professional Darts Championships is complete, with just four Men’s and two Ladies spots up for grabs at today’s qualifiers.

The 16 seeds for the men’s competition are headed by The Netherlands’ Wesley Harms, winner of no less than seven BDO ranked tournaments including the BDO British Open followed closely by 2019 World Trophy Champion Jim Williams ranked second. Dutch Open winner Richard Veenstra enters the tournament as the third seed, whilst Surrey and England’s Dave Parletti is set to make his second consecutive World Championship appearance as number four seed.

2019 runner-up Scott Waites, who narrowly missed out on a second World Masters title at the hands of John O’Shea, takes the last seeded position as number 16, whilst The Netherlands’ Martijn Kleermaker is the highest ranked debutant, entering the tournament as number seven seed.

Eight more players (ranked 17-24) will be drawn directly into the first round.  They include 2019 World Championship semi-finalist Michael Unterbuchner and youth sensation Leighton Bennett. Fans and supporters alike will be pleased to see the three-times World Champion Martin Adams back on the big stage, having missed out on a spot in 2019.

These players will be drawn into the Preliminary Round against the eight BDO regional qualifiers.  Paul Hogan once again features, as does Australian sharpshooter Justin Thompson. Joe Chaney heads the charge for the USA as he finished top of their regional table as did WDF pairs champion, Canada’s David Cameron.

They will be part of a truly world class field, with the list of seeds featuring triple finalist Deta Hedman, 3-time former champion Anastasia Dobromyslova, former BDO World Trophy champions, Aileen de Graaf and Fallon Sherrock, and featuring teenager Beau Greaves, who has had a phenomenal year and makes her World Championship debut as the number 6 seed!

Along with the 40 men and the 16 ladies invited to compete at the BDO World Professional Darts Championships in January 2020 at indigo at the O2, there will be two youth players contesting their own final as 2019 World Youth Champion Leighton Bennett (Eng) takes on 2019 Youth Boys World Master Keane Barry (ROI) in a much-anticipated clash of two youths at the top of their game.
