THE ACTION at the 25th Czech Open this weekend saw Ross Montgomery back to winning ways as he took his first singles title in 28 months, whilst Lisa Ashton continued her run of good form by claiming the Ladies title.
Montgomery faced tough opposition by way of Boy's one80 L-style World Master Keane Barry in the final, edging out the 17-year-old Irish star 6-5. 'The Boss' took his place in the final following a 5-3 win over the double Irish Open champion Mike Warburton in the semi-final, whilst Barry progressed with a 5-2 win over England's Paul Hogan.
Ashton's victory came via a 5-1 defeat of 2018 Champion Lorraine Winstanley in the final, with solid wins over Paula Jacklin, Maggie Sutton and Anna Hlavová along the way. Winstanley beat home-favourite Jitka Cisarova in the semi-finals and up and coming Irish player, Katie Sheldon in the quarter-finals, who like her teammate Barry, also claimed victory back in October at the Circus Tavern, taking the Girls one80 L-style World Masters title.
Other winners from the weekend include:

Densia Feklová - Girls Singles
